Naeba Snow Resort is a high-quality ski resort with impressive facilities and services, located in the southern area of Yuzawa town, Niigata Prefecture1. It may be familiar to music fans as it is also the home of the Fuji Rock festival.
About 2 hours via Shinkansen and bus
Naeba Ski Resort is about 40 minutes by direct bus from Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen, making it roughly 2 hours from Tokyo. The easy access makes it popular with both domestic and international visitors.

With 21 runs, Naeba offers everything from wide beginner-friendly slopes to steep expert terrain and ungroomed powder. Long cruising runs and natural terrain features ensure fun for families and advanced riders alike.

The Dragondola—Japan’s longest gondola—links Naeba to Tashiro and Kagura Ski Resorts. With a shared lift pass, you can enjoy the vast interconnected ski area while traveling across scenic mountain terrain.

Everything you need to know about skiing at Naeba Ski Resort
Naeba features a large base village with hotel-connected convenience and seasonal linkage to Kagura via the Dragondola.
Tokyo → Echigo-Yuzawa (Shinkansen) → bus/taxi to Naeba (~40–50 min).
January–March. Check Dragondola operating periods if you plan to connect to Tashiro/Kagura.
English-capable lessons and kids’ programs are available during peak season.
Hotel-integrated rentals, restaurants, lockers, and après options add comfort for families.
