Welcome to Japow Guides (the "Site"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site and any content, features, or services provided by or through the Site (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by Guide Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").
2. Eligibility
You may use the Services only if you have the legal capacity to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and you comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
3. Informational purposes only
We provide travel-related information (e.g., resort overviews, access tips, pricing snapshots). We do not operate ski resorts, transportation, or lodging, and we do not sell, issue, or manage tickets, reservations, or insurance. Information may change without notice (e.g., operating dates, snow conditions, prices, timetables). Always confirm details with official providers before you travel.
4. Affiliate disclosure & third-party services
The Services may include links to third-party providers (e.g., ticketing, rentals, lodging). We may earn a commission if you purchase through those links, at no extra cost to you. We are not a party to your contracts with third parties and are not responsible for their products, services, pricing, availability, policies, or actions. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
5. Assumption of risk (snow sports)
Skiing and snowboarding involve inherent risks. You acknowledge these risks and assume full responsibility for your activities and decisions. Follow local laws, resort rules, and safety guidance.
6. Accuracy, availability, and changes
We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that content is complete, current, or error-free. The Services (including content or features) may be updated, corrected, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- (a) violate laws or rights;
- (b) scrape, harvest, or index the Services except as permitted by robots.txt or our express consent;
- (c) interfere with or disrupt the Services;
- (d) use the Services to build competing datasets without permission;
- (e) upload malware or attempt unauthorized access; or
- (f) reverse engineer except as permitted by law.
8. Intellectual property
All content (texts, graphics, photos, layouts, code) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by IP laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent. Linking to public pages is allowed if fair and non-misleading and does not suggest sponsorship or endorsement.
9. Copyright concerns
If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, please contact us via the Site's contact form with details sufficient for us to identify the material and your rights. We may remove content at our discretion.
10. Privacy & cookies

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE (AND OUR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AND AFFILIATES) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED JPY 10,000 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your: (a) use of the Services; (b) violation of these Terms; or (c) infringement or violation of any law or third-party rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, including if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, the provisions intended to survive (including Sections 4–13 and 15–17) will remain in effect.
15. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
16. International users
If you access the Services from outside Japan, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. Where mandatory consumer rights apply, these Terms are intended to comply with those rights.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
