My Recommendation
I recommend riding the gondola straight to the summit rather than starting on the lower slopes. The Panorama Course at the top is the gentlest run on the mountain, and the snow quality is noticeably better thanks to the higher altitude. ALPS360 restaurant at the summit is a natural rest stop, and from there you can cross into Goryu's Alps-Daira area on the same lift pass.

Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park is one of 10 resorts in Hakuba Valley, located at the Northern Japan Alps base in Nagano. It connects to ABLE Hakuba Goryu resort via lifts.
Hakuba Valley, a 1998 Winter Olympics venue, is famous for abundant "Japow" (Japan powder) snow.
Hakuba 47 features Nagano's premier terrain park with professional half-pipes, kickers, jumps, and rails. Its north-facing, wind-protected slopes maintain excellent powder conditions, making it ideal for intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

More Info →The gentlest, widest slope on the mountain with the best altitude
Don't waste time on the lower runs. Take the gondola and lifts to the top of the mountain and start at the Panorama Course. It's the gentlest, widest slope on the mountain, and because of the higher altitude the snow quality is a step above everything below it. ALPS360, a restaurant right at the summit, is a perfect spot for a break with panoramic views. From there, you can also cross into Goryu's Alps-Daira area for a longer day.
Halfpipes, kickers, jumps, and rails that attract pros
Hakuba 47's terrain park is serious — halfpipes, kickers, jumps, and rails at a scale that attracts pros. If you're a park rider, this is one of the main reasons to come here. The resort also opens for full runs earlier in the season and stays open later, thanks to smart grooming and snowmaking — so shoulder-season riders get more value here than at most Hakuba resorts.
Narrow beginner bypasses and thin early/late season coverage below
Here's the honest part: the lower courses are either narrow beginner bypasses or intermediate terrain. If you're with kids, skiing those narrow lower routes feels sketchy, so I'd recommend just riding the gondola back down to the base. Early and late season, the lower slopes also tend to have thin coverage, which is another reason to stay up top. Overall the mountain's balance is great — snowboarders especially find it smoother to ride than Tsugaike — but plan your day around the upper mountain.
