Enjoy both sea of clouds and powder snow
From the mountaintop SORA terrace, you can gaze out over the Northern Nagano mountains and breathtaking cloud seas. The high elevation ensures consistently light, dry snow throughout the season.
A scenic cruise accessible to beginners
The 5 km run from the summit to the base offers a relaxing ride with beautiful views along the way. The 1,000-meter vertical drop makes for an exhilarating descent unique to Ryuoo.
Hot springs, dining, and a café above the clouds
After skiing, unwind in local hot springs or enjoy a meal at one of the resort’s restaurants. At SORA terrace Café, sip coffee while watching a sea of clouds or a stunning sunset.

Everything you need to know about skiing at Ryuoo Ski Park
Essential items include warm clothing, waterproof gear, gloves, goggles, and sunscreen. Most resorts offer equipment rental, but bringing your own gear is also an option.
Most major ski resorts in Japan have English-speaking staff, especially at information desks, rental shops, and ski schools. However, learning basic Japanese phrases can enhance your experience.
The best time is typically from late December to early March, with January and February offering the best snow conditions. March provides longer daylight hours and milder weather.
