Akakura season end: Onsen on 31 March, Kanko on 12 April

In the Akakura area, Akakura Onsen ended its 2025-2026 season on 31 March 2026. The higher Akakura Kanko, which had planned to stay open until early May, ended on 12 April 2026 after warm weather and snowmelt.

Akakura Kanko reaches about 1,500 metres, so it usually keeps snow longer than the lower Akakura Onsen. For late-season snow in the Akakura area, the Kanko side is the better choice.
