Naeba confirms 18 December opening, with night skiing from the first day

Naeba Ski Resort will open on Friday, 18 December 2026 for the 2026-2027 winter season. The season is planned to run until Sunday, 4 April 2027. Last season Naeba opened on 13 December, so this season starts a few days later.

Night skiing is planned from the opening day until 21 March 2027. The Naeba Dragondola, the long gondola towards the Kagura side, is planned to run from 26 December 2026 to 22 March 2027.

For families, children of elementary school age and younger ride the lifts at Naeba free.

Naeba sits in the Yuzawa area, about 2 hours 15 minutes from Tokyo. Take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, then a shuttle bus (about 40 to 50 minutes).
