Joetsu Kokusai closed early, on 31 March

Joetsu•Yuzawa

Joetsu Kokusai ended its 2025-2026 winter season on 31 March 2026. The resort had planned to stay open until 5 April, but low snow and fast snowmelt made it hard to keep the runs safe.

Joetsu Kokusai sits at a lower height, so its snow can melt quickly in spring. For this resort, a trip from late December to early March is the safest choice for good snow.
