Karuizawa closed its 2025-2026 winter season on 31 March 2026. The resort opened on 1 November 2025, so it had a long season from early winter to spring.

Karuizawa sits at a lower height than the big mountain resorts and uses snow machines. So it opens early in the season and also closes earlier, at the end of March. For an early-winter or March family trip near Tokyo, it is a good choice.
