Myoko Suginohara confirms 19 December opening, and stops selling season passes

Myoko Suginohara will open on Saturday, 19 December 2026 for the 2026-2027 winter season. The season is planned to run until Sunday, 28 March 2027. Last season it opened on 13 December, so this season starts about one week later.

Some lists on social media show 12 December for Suginohara. The resort's official website says 19 December, and we follow the official date.

There is also a ticket change. For 2026-2027, Suginohara will not sell season passes or early-bird and advance lift tickets. The resort says the aim is to keep the slopes more comfortable and less crowded. A new 5-day pass that covers Suginohara and Madarao Kogen is planned, and details will follow.

For families, children of elementary school age and younger ride the lifts free.

Suginohara sits in the Myoko area, about 3 hours 15 minutes from Tokyo. Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Joetsu-Myoko Station, the Myoko Haneuma Line to Myoko-Kogen Station, then a local bus.

Most resorts near Tokyo announce their dates between September and November. We track every confirmed 2026-2027 date, and explain how season timing works, in one place: When Do Honshu Ski Resorts Open?
